Majesty, worship His Majesty,
Unto Jesus be all glory, power and praise. Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His throne unto His own His anthem raise!
So, exalt, lift up on high, the name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King
Majesty, worship His majesty,
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all Kings
So, exalt, lift up on high, the name of Jesus
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King Majesty, worship His majesty,
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all Kings!

This is the song we sing on Saturday evening of Palm Sunday. It highlights the very human dichotomy of both praising Jesus and rejecting him. The crowds who welcomed Jesus into Jerusalem proclaimed him a king and sang his praises. It was the same people who not long after were calling out for him to be crucified.

The purpose of remembering and celebrating his passion and death is to remind us of how much we are loved, and the lengths to which God would go to bring us salvation. The passion is NOT about how bad we are but about how good God is.

A good stance for us to take before the cross is one of gratitude, of solidarity and of simple presence. Our guilt cannot take away the suffering of Jesus but what we can do is to just be present to him in prayer. During his passion his cross is a monstrance embracing the broken body of Jesus, our offering of love all he ever asks of us in return.

May the celebration of the triduum be a time of profound encounter with the God. May you fall in love with him yet again, and may his love transform your lives.
