On behalf of the Department of Pastoral Care for migrants and refugees, Johannesburg, I write to appeal for your generous support in responding to the urgent humanitarian needs of stranded migrants living outside the
consulates of Malawi and Zimbabwe in Johannesburg.
Many of these individuals and families have fled their homes since the June 30″ unrest and now seek repatriation to their countries of origin. Sadly, upon arriving in Johannesburg, many remain stranded without
temporary shelter, food, clothing, healthcare, or the financial means while awaiting being processed by their consulates before returning home. Women, and children are among the most vulnerable.
Guided by our Christian commitment to uphold the dignity of every human person, the Department of Pastoral Care for migrants and refugees provides emergency assistance, including food parcels, and blankets before they return to their countries of origin. We humbly invite you to help us by making a financial contribution or
donating essential items such as:
- Non-perishable food;
- Blankets;
- Clothing and shoes for adults and children;
- Toiletries and hygiene products;
- Baby food, nappies, and infant supplies;
- Other essential necessities.
Your generosity will bring hope and relief to people who have lost almost everything. Every donation, regardless of its size, contributes directly to restoring dignity and helping vulnerable families regain stability and hope for the future in their countries of origin.
Please note that all parish activities and events planned by the Department of Pastoral Care are cancelled until further notice.
Thank you for considering this request. We pray that God may bless you abundantly for your compassion and solidarity with those most in need.
Yours faithfully,
Fr. Jean-Matie Kuzituka Did’ho (Episcopal Vicar)
