Catholic Women's League
Our motto is Charity, Work and Loyalty (CWL)
The Catholic Women’s League (CWL) unites women in service to God, the Church, and the Family. We are active members of our parish, assisting with various activities and providing support wherever needed.
Our Meetings
We meet on the third Wednesday of each month after the 9:00 AM Mass. Our meetings begin with tea and snacks, followed by prayers and a spiritual reflection. We also discuss upcoming events and fundraising efforts.
How We Help
- Spiritual Growth: We participate in the Rosary Emblem, World Wide Day of Prayer, and World Union of Catholic Organizations Day. We also attend an annual Morning of Recollection at Schoenstatt.
- Fundraising: We organize various fundraising activities, including jumble sales, raffles, morning markets, and the Paschal Meal.
- Community Outreach: We provide funeral teas, Sunday morning teas, and visit the housebound. We also host a Christmas lunch for residents of the Rand Epileptic Association.
- Support for Charities: Funds raised by the CWL support several regional charities, including:
- Kaponong Soup Kitchen
- Mary Immaculate Queen Pre-School
- The Catholic Adoption Society
- Mmamahou Motshehetsi Community Care and Support Centre
- Wonke-Wonke Nursery School
- Parish Support: We assist with various parish activities, including Priesthood Sunday, the Parish Priest’s anniversaries, hosting Priests’ meetings, and other events.
